We would be delighted to meet with you during the event at our stand, SYE179, in the Superyacht Extension Area.

Yacht Refit - Pershing 72

PERSHING 72’ dates back to 2007; the new ship owner commissioned CMM Yacht Service all the refitting works and modifications on the watercraft.
After taking several ideas into consideration, the Ship Owner has chosen a major refit. What was the result? A completely repainted yacht, with clear aesthetic modifications especially as for the ship owner’s cabin and the substitution of a lot of plants.

The first ship owner’s request was to change the external look of the ship with the aim of making the classical colour of Pershing more modern: silver hull, white deck and charcoal strip changed into a new total Champagne Pearl colour.
The need has been duly met, with a few modifications while choosing the colours, though.
Given that the ship had a sports line, the CMM project manager did not recommend just one colour but two of them: hull and deck in pearl white and sundeck and floating line in carbon grey.
Unique colours for this kind of ship, with extraordinary glares when the ship is off shore; so it was easy to persuade the ship owner who immediately ordered the CMM technicians to go on with works.
WORKING PHASES:

First, the vessel was sanded down and plastered. This step is fundamental in order to eliminate the porous parts on the boat and to level the surface so as to remove all imperfections.
Once preparation and priming had been carried out, the next step was the prime coat application.
The last phases made by the CMM workers were the painting with ceramics finishing and polishing of the yacht.

SHIP OWNER’S CABIN REFIT

The ship owner’s intention was to make his cabin larger and brighter, for this reason the panels of the wengé canopy were replaced with mirror panels which are not just important decorative elements but also furnishing elements capable to visually enlarge and make the most of the cabin.
The headboard was coated with pearl white leather and punched with amazing Swarovski pieces as well as the Chaise Lounge and the pouffe, in such a way to improve the harmony of the surrounding rooms.
The manual roller blinds inside the cabin have been replaced with new electric Roman blinds made of silk and linen.
A lot of hi-tech equipment has been added on board: as for audio and video, CMM Yacht Service has worked to create the entire home robotics system on board. In all the cabins and salon the TV-sets have been replaced with latest generation Ultra HD Smart TV-sets and equipped with Apple TV, Blue Ray DVD-players and satellite reception decoders.
All of these apparatuses are controlled by only one remote control programmed by the CMM technicians, which permits to manage the whole system with only one instrument.

NAVIGATION BRIDGE AND ELECTRIC PLANT REFIT

Two Raymarine gS plotters, series touch screen 12” and 16” have been installed on the navigation bridge; a full navigation system equipped with a new dual core processor plus another graphics processor permitting ultrafast reliable performance; the existing echo sounder has been supplemented with a latest generation Chirp sounder for a better three-dimension view of the sea bottom.
The CMM technicians have equipped the ship with a Flyr night vision camera by means of heat detection, controllable both by touch system from the plotter and by means of controller mounted onto the command armrest between the two seats.
The command arm has been redesigned so as to make the installation of the Flyr camera controller and the three joysticks possible: tiller, stern and bow; so as to guarantee a better control of the mooring operations.
In order to permit the ordinary use of the ship in the USA and to avoid the dismantling of the whole installation, the CMM technicians have installed a converter transforming any incoming tension into 220 V 60HZ and another converter turning the socket power into 110 V, so that any kind of American electric household appliances can be easily used.
The technicians have carried out the upgrade of the existing air conditioning system into a tropical air conditioner by supplementing a set of compressors and boosting the fancoils, with extra 45.000 BTU in addition to the existing 72.000 BTU, both in the salon and in the ship owner’s cabin.

A sophisticated monitoring system has been installed onto the Pershing 72; it is equipped with 5 video cameras watching salon, well, mast head, machine room and stern hold door.
The video cameras can be remote-viewed in real time by IPhone, IPad and any web connection; the 3G/4G network is used by means of a router programmed by the CMM technicians.
The stern video camera, which is simultaneously used with the commands installed on the control armrest, makes the mooring operations easier thanks to the 175° view.

A further important stylistic element concerns the illuminating engineering and its system based on underwater lights of the Ocean Led RGB type, 40.000 lumen of lighting power, controllable by means of a specific control panel equipped with an “illumination effect” programme giving both pre-established and customized lighting aiming at colour control and light intensity.

CMM has equipped the external area with 26 RGB spot leds controllable by the navigation bridge panel and by remote using IPhone and IPad. The lights are synchronized to the sound of music.

COCKPIT TABLE AND CUSHION REFIT

The existing teak table has been replaced with a structurally identical table made by the CMM cabinet makers using resin; then, like the ship, it has been painted in pearl white by the CMM workers.
What can we do when there is no room onboard for fridge/refrigerator? Just using the room available, the CMM technicians have modified the one in the cockpit and have created and installed a fridge suitably conceived for those who have little space. In this way, the area previously prepared for the grill has been optimized.

The cushion upholstery has been entirely replaced with a new one made with “DIAMANTE” fabric ICE colour, square-shaped stitching that is the same used for the new Pershing models, customized with the ship name and embroidered ship model. The bow cushions have been enriched with reclining back and a sliding electric boat awning.

How to choose the right font for the ship name?

The Pershing 72’s owner had chosen a specific type for his boat name but he was not entirely satisfied with it, that is why CMM carried out a study in order to have the most suitable ship name; CMM has taken the owner’s passions into consideration: since the ship owner is a great fan of the Ferrari cars, a writing with the same font has been created for his “offshore Ferrari”.
The writing with “Red Iron” type has been made with carbon and LED RGB backlighting, fixed commands on the pilot house and remote controlled by IPhone and IPad or remote control.

REFITTING PERSHING 80

THE BEAUTY FARM FOR BOATS

A team of specialists able to renew every kind of boat, from the one in bad condition to the almost new, just making some adjustments according to the owner needs.

Cmm Yacht Service is a company which can be identified both as a clinic and a tailor’s.
The top manager of this firm isn’t a doctor or a fashion designer, but a man who looks after the boats like a surgeon or a good dressmaker who is cutting of a fine cloth would.
The ten year old company managed by Matteo Cervasi, is specialized in the full refitting work of the yachts, from the external style up to the interior décor. The yard team working together with Canestrari Studio Design deals with all the “custom” projects. Cmm Yacht Service has its own wide exhibition area where there are a large range of precious fabrics, the best solutions for parquet and teak floorings and refined accessories of the most prestigious brands on display. The showroom has been opened to give the owner the possibility to put together the different materials and furnishings to find the best result. The customer is always supported by the aid and advice of the Cmm technical team, who can interpret their every need in the best possible way. They are not only able to restore the whole boat by renewing the interiors, replacing or reconditioning the engines and repainting the hull , but also to change the interior layout , as they did for a Pershing ’80 built in 2011. In fact the new owner asked to turn the studio into a walk-in closet and to re-arrange the master cabin, the cockpit and the cabinet of the saloon. Cmm has provided the customer with some designs able to satisfy his desires ,maintaining at the same time the elegance and the functionality of the original project. The cockpit has been modified by creating an extra relaxation area.

Building a walk-in closet on a yacht having limited spaces can seem impossibile, but thanks to the workmanlike project by Canestrari Studio Design and to the professionalism of the Cmm cabinetmakers , it has been built using the whole area in the best way. At first the Cmm team took all the furnishings of the studio off, including the ceilings. Then they placed the new partition wall and the cabinets tailored to the new room.

The lights inside the room have been completely changed to allow better visibility not only in the walk-in closet, but also inside the furniture. Finally they moved to the next step, covering the partition wall between the walk-in closet and hallway with dispelled oak paneling, the door in Frau leather and the ceiling which has been fitted according to the new layout.

In the master cabin, facing the bed they have put a mirror Tv which can combine the characteristics of an elegant mirror with the advantages of a LED full hd high resolution Tv which has a stylish and fine design. To make this work they had to change the glass wall with the one where they have installed the mirror Tv. The lacquered glass door of the bathroom has been replaced with a sliding door made of the same material, the opening of which can be possible through the installation of a hollow space able to accommodate both the door and the new Tv. The new wall inside the bathroom, has been covered with both oak and glass tiles which have already been used for the shower cubicle, enhancing the Bisazza effect and matching the whole room.

A mirror Tv has been fitted in the master cabin, facing the bed .
Work which has required different stages of completion. At first the lacquered glass door of the bathroom has been replaced with a sliding door made of the same material, the opening of which can be possible through the installation of a hollow space able to accommodate both the door and the new Tv. The new wall inside the bathroom, has been covered with both oak and glass tiles which have already been used for the shower cubicle to have continuity with the Bisazza.

In the pictures, the furniture of the saloon has been fitted with a removable rack cup holder made of transparent plexiglass .

In the cockpit the dining table has been modified and the stern sunbathing area has been lengthened.

It took a couple of months to finish the work. During these months the Cmm Yacht Service technicians together with the Studio Canestrari Design have been engaged in the dismantling and reconstruction of the rooms, taking care of the elegance and efficiency of every detail.

YACHT REFITTING: PERSHING 80 IN TURKEY

Pershing 80 is a luxury yacht of 24 meters. It was made in 2008 in the yard of Mondolfo and it has recently undergone a major refit work.

The boat, which originally was white, was completely repainted in silver, moreover new teak decks were installed.

The kitchen was renewed, not in terms of layout, but in the equipment, which was improved.

The lighting system was redesigned and installed employing only LED lights, both in the cockpit and in the sidewalks.

Even for safety and comfort on board equipment we dealt with several innovative home-automation devices, and other new generation solutions, such as the boat monitoring and control systems.

PERSHING 90 REFITTING

The 24-meter-long yacht  was enriched with a second cockpit on the deck.

During the design phase, the owner of the Pershing 90 was attended to by Asli Felah who provided the most appropriate solutions for the integration of the skipper’s station.

The CMM Yacht Service staff was committed the operational phase: dismantling the basin, installing  the new console with the relevant levers and accessories.

The project of the whole intervention was conceived as not to make the complex visible from the outside, so as not to weigh down the typical “slender” silhouette of Pershing yachts.
